The column was designed as a structural element that transmits weight vertically. The proposed capital aims to diversify a column by expanding its continuity from the bottom to the top. Inspired by the idea of the Kaleidoscope, an instrument that replicates the same pattern through reflecting, rotating and mirroring, this project also transforms a single plan derived from the static traditional column to a dynamic collective. As the plans of a column are constantly changing in scale, our column capital accentuates this characteristic and turns them into a kaleidoscopic figure with incessant movement.
